Here’s a little background about this group and how it started.
The Rendezvous has been a huge success, offering young people a social night out. We wanted it to be in a proper venue, to give young people a real sense of a night out and learn some social skills while having a good time with people their own age.
Previously, ECHO had only worked with an older age group (18+) but we were becoming aware that there was nothing on offer for a slightly younger age group. We had our popular Boogie Nights but this wasn’t available to them until they turned 18.
The owners of Shooters Bar allowed us to use The Shed for the popular monthly club-style night out. It was an ideal venue, giving our participants a proper night out whilst still being accessible and providing support if they needed it.
Working with MFN, we approached them to see if another night could be found. Thanks to the generosity of the owners and goodwill of the staff it was decided that a Monday could be used. They are normally closed but had seen how much everyone enjoyed Boogie Nights and wanted to support the idea of a young people’s get together.
The Rendezvous was the name chosen by those that attended the early sessions.
Nick Baker, ECHO’s Leisure and Social Activities Manager, is responsible for putting on the event each month but it’s the group that chose what they do. There is usually an activity but everyone is free to enjoy the evening as they wish.
For Transition Week we are welcoming you to come along and see what The Rendezvous has to offer. This is a free taster session (it’s normally £4) but you will need money for drinks from the bar as we do not provide these.
Accessibility is good into and around the building however, if you have any specific needs do get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Here’s what you need to know:
We meet at The Shed (Shooters Bar), Leominster, who very kindly open up just for us so we can offer a great evening out without it being too busy.
Each month we chose an activity, such as a music quiz, as part of the evening but you are also free to enjoy your time the way you want.
At The Rendezvous you get to choose what to do. It’s a way to meet friends or spend time at The Shed enjoying the music or playing pool.
Parents and Carers can choose to stay and relax or have some time out themselves.
It costs £4 but bring extra money for pool table, drinks and snacks.
