Another volunteer social event is planned for Thursday 17th January.
ECHO is lucky to have so many wonderful volunteers but they rarely have the chance to get together and learn about other projects or share their experience. When the Yam Jams volunteer team were nominated at the Sunshine Radio Pride Awards recently, there was a get together at the Koffie Pot which proved very popular. It offered a chance to meet volunteers from different projects who would not normally see each other.
Denise and Claire, our inclusive volunteer co-ordinators, decided that a few more social evenings would be the ideal way to bring people together to share their experience, if they wished to do so, or just enjoy a friendly get together. The first evening at the Duke’s Head in Leominster was a success with those that attended and another date is already being planned for the new year.
It would be impossible to bring all ECHO volunteers to one event but it is hoped that these informal evenings will be another way to make the ECHO volunteering experience a good one. People volunteer for all sorts of reasons, including finding new friends with a common interest.
Everyone welcome to the next volunteer social evening which will be in Hereford at The King’s Fee, Commercial Road. No need to book, just come along and bring money for drinks, and food if you wish.
Date: Thursday 17th Janaury
Time: 5 – 7pm
